Zero trust is a methodology to increase security for an organization’s business. It removes the old premise that outside the perimeter firewall is untrusted, but it is trusted if a user/device/application is inside the firewalled perimeter. The zero-trust framework methodology has gained considerable traction with the forced rapid increase in work from home, effectively removing the trusted perimeter. 

Zero trust can be applied to devices, identities, data, and applications. Different solution providers approach the topic differently with the same ‘zero trust’ marketing jargon.
