He will share his experiences with trust and using those bonds to accomplish challenging goals. In addition, he will offer examples of strategies to build trust, which increases the capacity for both individual contributors and teams as a whole to accomplish more than they thought possible. Bio: Matt Carlson is the Director of Cybersecurity and Compliance at NW Natural, a regional utility focused on water, renewables, and natural gas distribution that is six weeks older than the state of Oregon. He has built security programs and led teams in the financial services, social services, government contracting, and energy sectors. In addition to various certifications in cybersecurity, IT management, and physical security he earned a BS in IT and Administrative Management from Central Washington University, MS in Information Assurance from Norwich University, and an EMBA from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at University of Maryland, College Park. He completed the SIM Regional Leadership Forum in April 2022. He enjoys learning new things and developing the programs, processes, and people around him.
