About the Session:
Since all publicly traded companies are regulated by the SEC, it is imperative that IT leaders understand the new Cybersecurity SEC Regulations.
As we see what’s happening in courts around the US, we cannot be sure when and how the SEC will succeed in filing claims for violations of these SEC Regulations. And of course, investors can bring their own lawsuits if they are dissatisfied with a company's management of cybersecurity.
Please join us on Wednesday, December 13 at 12:30pm Eastern where SIM's resident expert in IT law, Peter Vogel, will share tips for navigating the new SEC regulations to mitigate the exposure for our companies.
About the Speaker: Peter S. Vogel is a lawyer at VOGEL IT LAW. Before practicing law he worked as a computer programmer, received a Master's in Computer Science, and taught graduate courses in information systems. For more than 30 years, Peter has been an arbitrator and mediator with the American Arbitration Association, and a Tech List Member of the Silicon Valley Arbitration & Mediation Center. He's taught courses at the SMU Dedman School of Law for more than 25 years. He is a member of SIM's Dallas Fort Worth Chapter. COST TO ATTEND:
Free for SIM Members. $30 for non-members. Employees of SIM Members are welcome to attend for free - please email jswan@simnet.org for a promo code to register. Please sign in to receive member pricing for you and your staff.
