What is the proposed SIM Philadelphia Special Interest Group / Financial Services?

The SIM FS SIG is a newly established, all-volunteer, community of practice that is dedicated to understanding and improving financial services competencies.  Our goal is to help our SIM Philadelphia members connect and grow their careers through sharing best practices, standards, methodologies, tools, and bodies of knowledge. 

Some items for discussion at our kick off meeting:

• What are the challenges affecting the Financial Industry?
• Anything unusual happening?
• How does the economy and fed interest rates impact your business?  Any other economic drivers?

Next steps:

• Meet informally with other interested members on April 2nd at 4:00 p.m. (prior to our dinner meeting featuring futurist Frank Diana). A room has been reserved and a bartender will open the bar early.
• Determine if there is interest and discuss recruitment of other potential members.
• Work with admin to schedule any upcoming in person discussions.
