SIM Women is a network inside the SIM national association that promotes mentorship, communication, and career development amongst the female members of SIM. We are excited to host our next webinar on Wednesday, July 31st at 3pm EDT when Kathryn Lancioni will take us through "Media & Crisis Communication."

Register above! Once you register, you will receive the webinar access information directly from Zoom.

For the first portion of the presentation, we'll discuss the different types of media outlets and their motivations, and how media perception can impact an organization

during a crisis. Then, we will explore points for responding to a crisis, including identifying and formulating key messages and talking points for various crisis scenarios, and speaking to the media (techniques for delivering clear and concise messages under pressure). As social media also plays a role in crisis, it is important to understand that role in crisis communication. We'll discuss tips for managing online conversations and addressing misinformation, as well as ideas for creating an effective social media crisis communication plan. We will wrap up with a conversation on the dos and don'ts of media interviews during a crisis.
