Happy 18th Birthday to SIM Women! 18 years, wow. It has been an honor to develop, program, and lead this organization. I'm excited for our future!
SIM Women is a network inside the SIM national association that promotes mentorship, communication, and career development amongst the female members of SIM. We are excited to host our next webinar
on
Wednesday, January 29th at 3pm ET
for a panel discussion on "Equal Pay in Tech" featuring Iris Junglas, Executive Editor of MIS Quarterly Executive, Caren Shiozaki, C-Suite Leader, Board Advisor and DigiRisk Co-Chair, and yours truly, Kristen Lamoreaux, Founder of SIM Women. Why us? Caren and I were asked to write a response paper to an article MISQE was publishing titled, "Do women make less than men in IT? Yes and No." Really? Where's the "No"??? Iris, Caren, and I had A LOT to share! Our discussion for this webinar will go beyond the two articles, and will focus on the problem, potential solutions, and personal accountability.
Dr. Iris Junglas is the Noah T. Leask Distinguished Professor of Information Management and Innovation at the College of Charleston. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia in Management Information Systems and a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Koblenz in Germany. Iris’ research sits at the intersection of technology innovation and business analytics. She is a Fulbright Scholar and currently the Editor-in-Chief for MIS Quarterly Executive, AIS’ only practitioner-oriented journal.
