About the Session:

As digital transformation accelerates, organizations face mounting cybersecurity challenges across their supply chains and operational technology (OT) environments. In this SIM DigiRisk session, we will explore two critical research studies published in MSQE that uncover systemic weaknesses and practical solutions for securing SMEs in supply chains and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
Dr. Jillian Kwong and Dr. Keri Pearlson’s study on SME cybersecurity in supply chains highlights the resource constraints, regulatory burdens, and framework inconsistencies that leave small vendors vulnerable to cyber threats—creating risk for the larger enterprises they support. Meanwhile, Dr. Abbatemarco Nico and Hans Brechbühl examine cybersecurity success factors in Industry 4.0, revealing how gaps in leadership authority, cultural misalignment, and outdated security approaches put industrial systems at risk.
Join us for an engaging discussion where we will examine key insights from these studies and explore their implications on several Dimensions of Digital Risk—including strategic, operational, compliance, and third-party risks. This interactive session will include a Q&A with the authors, providing attendees with actionable strategies for mitigating cybersecurity threats in an increasingly interconnected digital world.
