SIM Women is a network inside the SIM association that promotes mentorship, communication and career development amongst the female members of SIM.

It is a pleasure to invite you to SIM Women’s July webinar titled "Confidence, Presence and Influence on Video"featuring Dr. Laura Sicola, Founder, Vocal Impact Productions on Wednesday, July 29th at 3pm ET. Those who RSVP that they can attend will receive the webinar access information a day prior to the event.

In today's "new reality," the success of your personal and professional brand is determined by how you show up on video.  The key is having the comfort, strategy and skill set for to make video-based events an experience that is positive and productive, and establishes your image and reputation as the leader you are regardless of your title. In this interactive meeting, our facilitator Laura Sicola will share 5 key strategies to confidently run an effective video-based team meeting, board conference, training or other event, and also the psychology behind engaging your audience thus bolstering your influence and success!  This won't be one-way communication; our SIM Women members and participants will be front and center.

You'll learn both tactical and strategic secrets to:

  • Mindset and getting over the fear/discomfort of "I don't like looking at myself on camera"
  • Technology - the importance of good camera angles and proper mic use
  • Do's and don'ts of screen-sharing, creating PPT slides to maximize engagement, etc.
  • Sounding natural rather than canned, especially if you have to do any asynchronous video recordings (e.g. news blasts to a larger audience that they'll watch at their convenience rather than live)
  • Maximizing engagement by setting behavioral expectations and managing participation for overall effectiveness.

Our speaker, Dr. Laura Sicola, is a leadership communication and influence expert, speaker, author ofSpeaking to Influence: Mastering Your Leadership Voiceand host of the podcast, Speaking to Influence: Communication Secrets of the C-SuiteHer mission is to help executives become confident, inspiring leaders whether on stage, on camera or just on the phone in order to get the results they want and make a positive, lasting impact.
